DROPS Object Survey

A dramatic increase in the oil industry’s awareness of dropped objects and potential dropped object scenarios has prompted a surge in requirement for these specialized inspections. We have however, retained our approach to these inspections as being as practical and pro-active to ensure that we solve as many issues as possible on site, so as to reduce or eliminate the amount faults/failures in the report and to reduce items to be attended to going forward. Omarain provide qualified inspectors to conduct a thorough dropped objects survey of the Derrick/Mast, Cranes and other owner agreed surrounding areas, documenting findings with proper photographs to support and providing recommendations for their rectification on board the vessel. All findings are then presented in our exclusive corrective actions register/ report format in hard, soft and interactive online copies. The team also prepare a complete dropped objects scheduled-inspection follow-up program, for post Omarain drops inspections by the rig crew. This program is built on a level-by-level basis, detailing items to be checked and what to look for, text is clear and easy to follow, with all items supported by a photographic reference. Our Strength is our highly experienced IRATA Level 3 Certified DROPS Surveyors.
